Co2 Training
Over the past year we have seen the UK food retailers commit to a carbon reduction percentage across their store portfolios, this has led to increased interest and commitment in the use of alternative refrigerants and the one which most are favouring is Carbon Dioxide, CO2.
Most of these retailers, our customers, have trialed either sub critical or trans critical designs and system layouts and have adopted one of these as the blue print for their stores, the trials have also moved on to include refit/refurbish stores and it's fair to say that all have been installed to a high degree of success.
This year our customers are committing to up to 50% of their development programme to operate on CO2 and this will increase in the coming years.
We have also placed a large emphasis on and heavily invested in specific CO2 training for our design engineers, installation engineers and technicians. This invest in most occasions cannot be charged to the customer and for us forms part of our investment into this new technology. The company is presently working with the British Refrigeration Association to define new training standards and practices for the future of CO2 installations in the UK.
