Project First were requested by Mace (Main Contractor) to take a leading role of the fit out of the food hall to compile comprehensive and detailed programme of works to allow all contractors to work to. The food hall is located in the basement of the store, which required the removal of the old refrigeration display cases and installation of the new refrigeration display cases to be installed/removed down/up a 16 step stair case, whilst liaising with Westminster council to ensure minimum disruption was maintained throughout the phased installation programme to the store and general public.
The refrigeration and electrical design was carried out by an external consultant which consisted of two packaged refrigeration units and five air cooled condensing units, the packaged refrigeration units operate the chilled refrigeration display cases and the air cooled condensing units operate the stock room chiller and freezer cold rooms and bakery freezer.
In addition to the refrigeration fit out, We also acted as principle contractor and co-ordinated the procurement, delivery and installation of the following items, builders works associated with refrigeration installation, removal/Installation of checkouts, installation of till point queue system, refrigeration alarm & monitoring, removal/installation of ambient shelving, cold aisle heating, installation, ice cream tubs and wine chiller installation.
The renewal project introduced new food hall initiatives for the Bakery and Food To Go areas with a new Café Revive being installed on the first floor. Refrigeration mechanical & electrical services were required to all initiative areas.
The completed project cost of the installation was in excess of £1,000,000.00
